In this article, I'll guide you through setting up the Save to Notion extension on your computer—from installation to saving your first piece of content. Let's get started!

Step 1. Install Save to Notion

Install on Chrome

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store.
  1. Click "Add to Chrome."
  1. Pin the extension
      • Click on The “Extension” icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
      • Click on the Pin icon
      • The extension icon will now appear on the top-right corner of your browser.

For Other Browsers

  • Safari: Install from the App Store.
  • Firefox: Install from Mozilla Add-ons.
  • Edge: install from the Microsoft Edge Store.

Step 2: Connect Your Notion Account (Optional)

  1. If you are not already logged in to Notion, a screen will ask you to login. click on “Log In” button, or go to notion.so on the same browser.

    Step 3: Configure Save to Notion

    1. Go to any page you would like to save (example).
    1. Click on the extension icon in the top right corner of your browser.
    1. Click on “Add a Form”

    If you're not logged into Notion in the same browser, the extension will prompt you to log in.
    1. Click on “Select a Page or Database” and choose the Database or Page where you want to save your pages. For example, I use my database “Second Brain” to store all the information I want to keep for reference.
    1. You'll be returned to the previous screen where you can configure the fields—such as tags and categories. The available fields will depend on the properties of the database you selected in Step 3. Once you've finished configuring, save the form.

    Keep it simple when setting up your database or page. Start with a few essential fields and add more later if needed.

    Ok now we configure our form, let’s save webpages to Notion.

    Step 4: Save articles

    At this stage, you're ready to save articles. Whenever you find something worth highlighting or saving to Notion, simply click the extension icon in your browser's toolbar.

    The form you've just created will pop up. Fill it in and click 'Save Page'.

    Afterward, check your Notion database or page to confirm that your saved article is there.
